Sunny Days Are My Favorite

Happy Sunday lovelies!! Today was such a beautiful day that we just HAD to get out and enjoy all the beauty it had to offer. It has been a little chilly here lately (for us Floridians that means its been at least in the 60's..) so it was nice to soak up a few rays with the hubby and our littlest love.

We took River out to pick up lunch at a local pizza place and then brought it back for a picnic on a blanket the backyard followed by a catnap cuddle session under the big blue sunny skies.

There is nothing I love more than getting away from the chaos of life to just enjoy the simple things we normally forget to appreciate. Warm sun on my face, birds chirping, the trees swaying in the wind.. its very peaceful and humbling. These kinds of days ALWAYS put a smile on my face and make me want to just open all the windows and let the brightness shine in with its cheery warmth!

PS. This day was especially wonderful because I got to spend it with the man who is my absolute best friend. :) He's a pretty awesome human being.

Sitting outside on this sunny day while munching down on a delicious NY style white pizza gave me the feeling of spring/summer and I couldn't be more excited for all that comes with that! Mostly arts and farmers markets, concerts, fireworks, days at the lake, BBQing, swimming and spending time with those we love most!

Here's to hoping your day was full of sunshine too!

If I Had To Choose Again, I'd Still Choose You.

Happy belated Valentine's Day, you beautiful people!

I know today is a controversial day. Some people love it, some hate it.

The mister and I celebrate but we usually challenge ourselves to something that proves our love rather than how much money we can spend. We have a 5$ rule. We can only spend 5$ or whatever we already have in the house. I love how this challenges you to really be creative and do something outside of the box. Also, handmade gifts from my boo mean so much more to me. Like two years ago he sculpted me a barn owl out of clay we had (he's a pretty talented guy! :]) and made me a collage with pictures of us that I still have hanging in my cubicle at work. Swooooon! I'm a lucky lady!

This year though, Jon cheated. I don't mind too terribly much. ;) He still made me a beautiful framed gilded heart 3d sculpture, but he also had these delivered:

I hate roses as gifts because they are so not original and they die in a matter of days. I would rather have a bouquet of wild flowers any day over roses.

However, these were so beautiful and his message was so sweet. Something about having flowers delivered just makes you feel so special. You get to show off how awesome your love is to everyone at the office! Every time I looked at them, my stomach fluttered and I couldn't stop smiling. :)

He came home from work to this:

We spent the rest of the night cooking the most fantastic steak dinner with a side of three cheese cast iron skillet mac and cheese and roasted red potatoes. Guys, that was the best Mac and Cheese I have EVER had. Like in my entire life. I may eat mac and cheese for dinner for the rest of the weekend.. Find the recipe here.

I love my boo more than words and couldn't have hoped for a better way to celebrate what we share!

How was your V-Day? Did you celebrate this day of love?!

One year ago today one of the cutest little Foxeagles was born! It's hard to believe it's been almost a year since we got her! Look how adorable she was!

To celebrate River's doggie day, we decided to take her to a park in Riverside (one of my favorite places in Jax!) so she could spend the day doing what she loves most.. meeting new people and other furfriends! She got a little more than she bargained for when she met an adorable little pop belly pig named Kevin Bacon! She wasn't quite sure what to think about him..

Honestly, he was so well behaved and adorable I seriously asked Jon if he maybe would ever want a cute little pig... :) No surprise, he said no.. prolly for the best since they eventually get up to hundreds of pounds. But if your'e in the market, Kevin's owner said that pigs are easier to train than dogs!!

River was so exhausted she collapsed as soon as she hit the couch!

Today was a successful birthday for our furkid!
